In this tutorial, I’m going show you everything about the interface and Working table configuration of RDworks.
This software interface is very simple and you can get familiar with in short time but I want to show you all kind of ways that you can use to modify it or make it usable and understandable for you.
Almost every tool of RDworks available on screen by default. But you can hide them or change positions.
Let’s check what you can find here.
On the top side, you can see Main menu where you can find all features of this RDworks including tools that you are seeing on screen and settings.
Below Main menu, you’ll see toolbar where you can find most commonly used tools like Open, Save, Import and similar.
Below this toolbar, you can see features toolbar where you see some active tools and some inactive tools.
Inactive tools will be available when you’ll select one tool or object to edit. For instance, as you can see dimension field are inactive and they will be available when I’ll select one any drawn object.
By the way, all tools grouped based on their purpose and you can change these group position by taken from right side of them and put them to any place that you want. OR you can make them float.
On the left side, you’ll see toolbar where all drawing and modify tools available. This panel also movable.
If you’ll want to hide some of the toolbars or accidentally you’ll close some of them you’ll able to restore them from top menu VIEW drop-down menu.
With right side panel, you’ll able to control all actions that connected to Laser machine. From this panel, you can control laser machine. Control parameters of sent files and many other features. We’ll get deep inside of this panel later in course.
Below you can see the color panel. These colors inherent not only to make objects colorful. Colors are also playing the role of layers in RDworks. You’ll see how it works when we’ll start work with a laser machine.
Well, the gridded rectangle on the center of software is the working space. This space can be different and you can change its size and some parameters. By default, this workings space dimensions is 1200 mm to 800 mm. Of course, you’ll need to change it to the dimension of your laser machine.
Let’s check parameters of the working space. To do that go to Top menu->Configuration->Page settings.
In opened window, you can change dimensions of the space. This dimensions must be equal you working table of your laser machine.
If your laser machine hears moving up and down then you can check Compensate for movable head option and enter parameter into field.
Here you can also control the view of grid and colors of working space elements.
In Keyboard section, you can set parameters that will allow you move and rotate an object by the arrows on the keyboard.
For example, If I’ll select any object and click press left arrow on the keyboard. MY object will move to 10 mm as in Adjust distance field I entered 10 mm.
Well as you can see there is now any difficult thing hard to understand.
This was the first tutorial of video course about RDworks. Right now I’m actively working on this course and soon it will be available.
